SEVENTEEN hypnotizes us with their new album "Face the Sun"
SEVENTEEN ‘s seventh anniversary is an important date for the group and its fans. And the release of this album is a good way to celebrate it. Face the Sun is the fourth full album in the group’s career, embodying their sincerity. And its title track “HOT” is a song that will undoubtedly conquer your playlist.
SEVENTEEN returns with their 4th album
Face the Sun celebrates a new anniversary together with Carat and the best way to do it is with an album that screams all its romantic and sensual style. And the dynamic duo behind the production of this album are Woozi and Bumzu , who bring SEVENTEEN ‘s music to life with each comeback. With this being a major comeback for the group, S.Coups, Wonwoo, Mingyu, Vernon, Hoshi, and Dino joined in on the songwriting.
SEVENTEEN have previewed all the tracks from their upcoming studio album ‘Face The Sun’ in a special highlight medley video released on their YouTube channel. Led by the single ‘Hot’, the nine-track album is officially released on on May 27 at 1 pm KST.
Starting in a cozy library, the boy band members perform snippets of their new songs, seamlessly transitioning between different sets for each 30-second snippet. The mood in each scene seems to be tailored to suit each track, from the high-octane lead single ‘Hot’, to the wild west-inspired ‘Cowboy’, to the playful ‘Domino’.
Last month, SEVENTEEN released their single “Dar+ling”, which is included in this album as the opening song for the boy band’s album. Notably, the song marked their first English single performed by all 13 members of the boy band.
“HOT” a mesmerizing melody!
“HOT” is a hip-hop song that perfectly expresses SEVENTEEN ‘s identity. Its hypnotizing and addictive melody expresses the strong will of the group and its fervent passion similar to that of the sun.
Likewise, their music video is electrifying as it showcases the individual charms of each member and their harmony as a group.
Two million albums sold!
SEVENTEEN ‘s sincerity reached their fans and the sales of this album prove it. Face the Sun achieved two million physical sales. This being just the beginning of what their fans have prepared for the group’s anniversary.
Prior to this, various sub-units and solo members of the group had released several songs in English. These include Vernon and Joshua on ‘2 Minus 1’ from SEVENTEEN’s most recent mini-album ‘Attacca’, which was released in May 2021, and Woozi with his solo mixtape ‘Ruby’. ‘Face The Sun’ is SEVENTEEN’s first domestic release in 2022. The studio album comes almost three years after the group’s previous full-length ‘An Ode’, which was released in September 2019. That album included 11 tracks and was headlined by the title track ‘Fear’.
